Extremely excited that our wedding is a part of something that is so much bigger than the two of us.

Dallas String Quartet

Exciting news! We have chosen the Dallas String Quartet to play for our ceremony! We are thrilled.

They have been so wonderful, and every time we listen to their music I get excited about the wedding.

Here's a bit about the crew:
Founded in 2007 by award-winning violist Ion Zanca, The Dallas String Quartet has quickly become the area’s quartet of choice. The group is comprised of standout performers from area orchestras–each a virtuoso musician, praised by peers and music lovers alike. The quartet was recently featured in Wall Street Journal, ESPN , Fox 4’s “Good Day” program and WFAA- Good Morning Texas. The music the group performs is contemporary, in genres ranging from jazz to pop, classical to classic rock. They have performed for celebrities such Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, Days Of Our Lives)  and actress Danneel Harris (One Tree Hill) as well as Los Angeles Lakers. True

I am blessed with true love. It makes my heart swell whenever I think about it. I am so lucky.

We will be best friends for the rest of our lives.

I am so grateful. Words cannot express.

grow

I don't want to over simply my life. But - I feel like I have grown up a ton in the past few months. Perhaps this is due to massive life shifts, finding the man of my dreams, AND - attempting to keep up with two very large puppies.

Life is hard. But I like the hard.

Thanks to everyone who supports and encourages me. I am a very lucky girl.

excess

I think everyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I over-pack in just about every situation that calls for a bag. I wear purses that my design partner could survive out of for weeks.

Fortunately, she has directed me to an extremely helpful little cheat sheet. Borrowed from a fab blog: a pair and a spare.

Mimi

One of the greatest heros in my life is my grandmother, Mimi. I've borrowed her bio from another publication, but it eloquently explains why I look up to her so much.

"Shirley Hughes Blackman is a lifetime artist. She won her first art award for drawing at just six years of age and, as Miss New Mexico, was the first contestant to name art as her talent in the Miss America Pageant. She graduated from Baylor University, going on to do advanced studio work in Paris with Reynold and Marthe Arnould.
Shirley has been a full time artist since 1970, exhibiting in numerous solo shows and being recognized in both national and international exhibitions. Her work is in many private and public collections in the United States, Central America and France."

I cannot wait until I get to visit my grandparents in July. Counting down the days! I am also hoping that she will assist in the development and design of the stationary for my wedding next April.

I've included a sample of her work above. You can see her work and others by visiting the website for the Austin Street Gallery - owned and operated by my grandparents in Rockport, Texas.
